QUALIFICATIONS:
1)Master's Degree 2) Current physical certifying capability of performing job responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. 3) Must possess English language skills for effective communication. 4) Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of professional responsibilities.
CERTIFICATION:
Appropriate Illinois State Board of Education Certification (PEL) with SLPN Endorsement; Pre-K through Age 22
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal and Director of Special Education
JOB GOAL:
The primary goal of the teacher is to assist the students in his/her development of knowledge, concepts, generalizations, principles, appreciation and attitudes that will promote fullest possible growth and assist him/her in valuing the dignity and worth of himself/herself/and others. The teacher shall provide within the classroom an educational program for the students and assist in other school programs as required by district policy.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates effective planning and preparation for instruction through:
Knowledge of therapy area and communication development Establishing learning targets/Goals & objectives program goals Demonstrating knowledge of regulations Demonstrating knowledge of resources Planning the therapy program Evaluating the therapy program; assessment of/for learning
Creates an environment conducive for learning by:
Creating an environment of Respect and Rapport Organizing time effectively Managing Clear Procedures Establishing standards of conduct Organizing Physical Space
Demonstrates effective service by:
Responding to referrals Develop/Implement treatment plans Communicating with families Collecting information/writing detailed reports Demonstrating Flexibility and Responsiveness
Demonstrates professionalism:
Reflecting on practice Collaborating with teachers/administrators/parents/guardians Maintaining effective data system Participating in a Professional Learning Community Growing and Developing Professionally Showing Professionalism
