The Clinic Phlebotomist is responsible for performing phlebotomy on patients of all ages and difficulty in an efficient and professional manner. Also responsible for processing specimens, performing waived and minimal moderate complexity testing, performing and documenting quality controls, and using multiple information systems to locate orders and report results.

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Courses in phlebotomy, medical terminology, and anatomy and physiology.

Successful completion of a phlebotomy, medical assisting, or emergency technician program.

6 months of phlebotomy experience.

Experience with electronic health records and laboratory information systems.

Specimen Processing

Experience using a microscope.

Knowledge of good laboratory practice including documentation and quality control.
