We offer services for fearful and anxious children as well as children with special needs.Pediatric Dentistry of Avenue U in Brooklyn, NY is looking to hire a full-time Dental Assistant.SIGN-ON BONUS: $1,000This position earns $19.00 - $25.00/hour plus BONUSES, depending on experience. We also offer medical insurance, flexible spending accounts (FSAs), a 401(k) plan, paid time off (PTO), Aflac, Sign-On and Referral Bonuses, and more.Dental Assistant Qualifications One year of experience as a dental assistant OR certification as a registered dental assistant Dental X-Ray License Strongly Preferred Pediatric experience Strongly Preferred Spanish Speaking Preferred Knowledge in Practice Management Charting Experience in Treatment Planning is strongly preferred Assists dentist in the administration of treatment at the chair side as required or directed Ability to complete documentation promptly and accurately Ability to use sound judgment; possess a calm disposition and the ability to work easily with others High school diploma or equivalentOur staff is integral to our dentistry practice. To hire and retain the best career-minded individuals, we offer competitive pay, excellent benefits, opportunities for career development, and a positive work environment.Dental Assistant Responsibilities: Primarily responsibility is to assist the dentists and always be present with patients in the room at all times Greet patients in the waiting area and escort patients to the operatory Assists dentist in the administration of treatment at the chair side as required or directed Promotes an atmosphere supportive of good dental and general health by demonstrating good oral hygiene; questioning patients to ascertain home care status, instructing patients in techniques of flossing and brushing Maintain a sterile and neat working environment according to current infection control procedures Review patient's health history, make chart entries under the direction of the operator, and ensure completion of forms and signatures Familiarize the patient with the aspects of their dental visit and provide support and compassion as needed Assist Dental Hygienist as needed; taking X-rays, getting patient seated and prepped for prophylaxis, setting up/cleaning treatment room Stock operatory and maintain a clinical supply inventory.
