Come join our team today!JOB SUMMARY:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Surgical Dental Assistant with a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience and a genuine enthusiasm for surgical procedures. The ideal candidate brings a positive, team-oriented mindset, strong work ethic, and a dedication to helping the practice achieve its goals. This role requires someone ready to contribute from day one-playing a key role in establishing and organizing the back office, developing efficient workflows, and ensuring the sterile room is set up to support optimal patient care. Collaboration with both clinical and administrative team members will be essential to delivering exceptional service. Additionally, this position will provide direct support to the doctor and dental lab operations.RequirementsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Review patient medical histories, obtain vital signs, and accurately document medications, medical conditions, and any relevant alerts, notifying the doctor of concerns promptlySet up and break down operatory equipment and instruments; ensure timely and accurate charting in compliance with regulatory standards and to support an efficient clinical scheduleAssist the doctor chairside during a wide range of surgical and dental proceduresCapture high-quality CBCT and panoramic images with accuracyEducate patients on procedures, prescribed medications, and detailed pre-operative and post-operative instructionsClean and sterilize instruments and maintain treatment rooms according to infection control protocolsMonitor and manage clinical inventory, ensuring necessary supplies are stocked and organizedProvide support to front desk staff as needed, fostering a collaborative team environmentMaintain procedural readiness by anticipating clinical needs and following chairside assisting protocols with confidence and efficiencyOversee basic maintenance and troubleshooting of office equipment to ensure smooth daily operationsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Strong understanding of basic dental terminologyExperience with inventory management and supply orderingKnowledge of implant procedures, All-on-Four and overdenturesProficient in taking alginate impressionCompliant with OSHA regulations and infection control protocolsAdheres to HIPAA standards for patient privacy and confidentialitySkilled in capturing CBCT and panoramic x-ray imagesMaintains a positive, professional attitudeDemonstrates a collaborative, team-oriented mindsetHighly organized, efficient and dependableExcellent communication skills, with the ability to multitask and maintain a positive, energetic demeanorPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Current CPR certificationValid X-Ray certificationSedation monitoring certificationA minimum of 1-2 years experience in an oral surgery setting is strongly preferredExperience with wax try-ins and replacing locator ringsFamiliarity with Open Dental software is a plusWHAT WE OFFER:You'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in patients' lives every day.
