Position Summary

The

Extra Help Cardiac Sonographer Technologist

is responsible for conducting cardiac and vascular sonography for the ECHOSOL study, following a standardized study protocol.

Duties & Responsibilities Perform echocardiograms providing complete and accurate imaging for diagnostic assessment as part of an NIH funded study 35% Operate echocardiogram and vascular sonogram equipment (including regular calibration) following IRB and study protocol as outlined by the study PI, to produce and record images of the motion, shape, and composition of blood, organs, tissues, or bodily masses; observe screen during scans to ensure that satisfactory images are obtained; make adjustments to equipment as needed and transmit data to the Coordinating Center of the research study at the end of each day. 35% Prepare participant for exam by explaining procedure, transferring participant to ultrasound table, scrubbing skin, applying gel, and positioning patient properly. Ensure participant safety and comfort 10% Participate in quality assurance activities for the study 5% Participate in regular calls with the Coordinating Center and lead study site. 5% Communicates with supervisors and health interviewers to successfully schedule various exams for the participants. 5% Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. 5%

Minimum Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Current/valid registration, certification or licensure in ANY of the following in Echocardiography:

Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
