Code medical records using ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding rules, ensuring thorough and compliant coding for billing and records. Sequence diagnostic and procedural codes according to specified procedures and assign MSDRG/APC as appropriate. Enter and validate charges, validating diagnoses with medical documentation. Compare account charges with coded procedures, identify discrepancies, and notify the Coding Manager as needed. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree preferred. Completion of ICD-9 or CPT coding course required. 3 years of coding experience preferred. AAPC certification preferred.
