Orthodontic Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented orthodontic assistant to join our team! As an orthodontic assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the orthodontist and ensuring a positive experience for our patients.
Responsibilities:
Chairside Assistance: Assist the orthodontist during patient consultations, examinations, and treatment procedures. Prepare treatment areas, ensuring they are clean and sterile. Help with the application and removal of orthodontic appliances (braces, retainers, aligners). Take impressions of patients' teeth. Assist with placement of separators or bands. Take x-rays and intraoral photographs. Patient Care: Greet patients and make them feel comfortable. Update and maintain patient records. Schedule appointments and answer patient phone calls. Provide oral hygiene instructions and education on proper care of orthodontic appliances. Explain treatment plans and answer patient questions. Administrative and Clinical Support: Sterilize instruments and equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Stock treatment rooms with necessary supplies. Assist with insurance and billing processes (as applicable). Perform other duties as assigned by the orthodontist. Qualifications:
Dental assistant certification (preferred) or experience in a dental setting Knowledge of orthodontic terminology and procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Friendly and compassionate demeanor Proficiency in computer software (dental practice management software a plus) Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs Benefits:
