Join our team at Oak Street Health as a Bilingual Medical Scribe. In this essential role, you will support our primary care providers with accurate clinical documentation, enabling them to offer exceptional care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include: Documenting patient encounters while observing provider-patient interactions. Preparing structured notes that include the history of the present illness, assessment, plan, and physical exam. Assigning correct CPT and ICD-10 codes and preparing After Visit Summaries. Consulting with providers to ensure documentation is accurate and specific. Moreover, your role will involve: Assisting with the request and review of medical records. Utilizing Oak Street’s population health tools to improve clinical documentation. Supporting daily team huddles and clinical documentation reviews. Addressing administrative tasks such as placing orders and referrals. This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals on a pre-med track or those pursuing careers in Health Informatics, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Medical Coding, and related fields. We encourage applicants with: Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications. Prior clinical experience, shadowing, or volunteering. Strong listening and communication skills. Fluency in Spanish or other languages spoken in the communities we serve. To succeed, you should be adaptable, a self-starter, and possess strong typing skills (70+ words per minute preferred). We value excellent attendance and the ability to work full-time (40-45 hours per week) during clinic hours, ensuring our providers can rely on your support. This role requires a commitment of at least 1-2 years, and complying with all hospital and Oak Street Health policies, including HIPAA, is essential. Work authorization in the U.S. is required.
