Title: Surgical AssistantPractice: Greensboro Oral, Implant, & Facial Cosmetics Surgery Center Location: Greensboro, NCOffice HoursMonday through Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMFriday: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PMSaturday through Sunday: ClosedThe Surgical Assistant is responsible for ensuring the compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality clinical care for patients while practicing and providing safety in the work environment. The ideal candidate will assist oral surgeons during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.Responsibilities:Ensure that all patients receive the highest quality of care and serviceCommunicate with all patients (both in-person and by phone) in a friendly and professional mannerMaintain positive, pleasant, and professional relationships between patients, staff members, and surgeonsAssist oral surgeons during surgical procedures and prepare instruments, materials, and equipment needed for various surgical proceduresSupport efforts that provide a clean and professional environment for all patients, including, but not limited to, ensuring that operatories are clean, supplies are adequate, equipment is maintained, and compliance with all company policies is maintainedMonitor patient's vital signs during surgical procedures and provide support as neededAssist with postoperative care, including patient education and follow-up instructionsDocument patient encounters and surgical procedures accuratelyFoster a collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, efficient workflow, and exceptional patient careAttend and participate in regular team meetingsAdhere to best practices, established protocols, and highest patient safety standardsSupport monthly office checks:a. Crash cartsb. Fire extinguishersc. Emergency preparedness attestationsd. Atteste. Xray unit calibrationf. Omni-cam calibrationg. Drug book accuracy and controlled substance inventoryh. Ensure oxygen tanks are full and hooked upi. Ensure invoices for controlled substances are printedj. Ensure proper controlled substance safety protocols are adhered toQualifications:Education/Certification:High School Diploma or equivalent required (some college preferred)Previous clinical experience. Experience as an oral surgery assistant or dental assistant is preferred. (Will train the right candidate.)Basic life support certification required.
