Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 Schedule: Day shift | 3x12-hour shifts/week Duration: 3+ Months ContractCompensation:Up to $62/hour for local candidatesUp to $71/hour for travel candidatesJob Description:A leading healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join their diagnostic imaging team. The ideal candidate will have experience conducting a variety of sonographic procedures and working in a fast-paced clinical environment.Responsibilities:Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to established protocols and within scheduled timeframesCarry out portable ultrasound exams as neededUtilize equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images, identifying anatomical abnormalities such as masses, abscesses, and stonesAssist physicians with biopsy and deep abdominal ultrasound studies, including color-flow imagingPrepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionalityExplain procedures to patients and position them appropriately for optimal imagingEvaluate technical quality of images and process them per department guidelinesMaintain and archive imaging records using PACS and EMR systems such as EPICPerform clerical duties including patient scheduling and documentation in various hospital systemsProvide guidance and technical support to students, residents, and team membersClean, stock, and sterilize instruments and maintain exam areasRequirements:Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical ultrasound settingProficiency with diagnostic ultrasound equipment and imaging softwareExcellent patient care and communication skillsCertifications (Required Prior to Start):Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart AssociationRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
