ResponsibilitiesThe Sr. Surgical Technician assists other members of the health care team in the delivery of patient care during the intra-operative period. The major focus for the position is on preparation and handling of instrumentation and surgical equipment and assisting the surgeon during the surgical procedure. This individual administers care and use of equipment applications based on the age and needs of the patient population served (neonate through geriatric). The Sr. Surgical Technician must be knowledgeable of specific procedures or specialties, effectively prioritize, and effectively plan and problem solve due to the changing nature of the work situation during surgical procedures. This individual must have the ability to recognize the need for immediate response during urgent or emergency situations. The Sr. Surgical Technician must also have basic knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system and aseptic technique, and apply this knowledge in all patient and family interactions.As an employee, you will receive competitive compensation and benefits.
