MCCN is a full service health care provider with primary care services for children, adolescents and adults.Job DescriptionPosition: Medical Assistant II or III Location: South Bay / Los Angeles(incl. FairFax, Wilshire, Inglewood Clinics)Status Full-Time (40hrs/wk) Schedule: Monday - Friday (40 hr/wk)*willing/able to assist in coverage at other clinic locations, as deemed necessary by immediate supervisor.Medical Assistant is the first interface with patient care. Serves patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; maintaining records and accounts. Ensuring that patients are screened and enrolled in the appropriate programs /payor sources. Verifies eligibility for Medi-Cal or Health Plans. Has other clerical, general, and maintenance duties. If deemed necessary by clinic site, back up medical assistant to facilitate patient flow.Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities:Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.Keeps patient appointments on schedule by assisting in the preparation of medical charts to determine eligibility and program requirements in order to facilitate the patient appointments; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule.Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.Collects appropriate payment if needed.Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Promptly and courteously answering phones and directing calls as appropriate. Take messages and distribute if necessary.Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.Assigned to a Primary Care Provider to process patient.Ensures that the correct financial screening, documentation and the appropriate sliding fee scale is used when no other payor source/program is available.Other duties as deemed necessaryMedical AssistantVitaling, venipuncture, injections, tray set-up, assisting providers as neededTranslation of Korean to Englishfront office appointment scheduling, verifying insurance/program eligibility and other duties deemed necessaryAble to function with minimal supervision, track Referrals, Abnormal Labs, ensure proper scheduling of patients office visits: annual h&p, vaccines, women's health, etc.Ensure patient check in / out is flowing accordinglyAssist is retinal screening.Telephone and in-person screening limited to intake and gathering of information and follow-upObtaining vital signs & recording patient historyPreparing and Maintaining examination and treatment areas (ex: sterilization)Preparing and Assisting with routine and specialty examinations, procedures and treatmentsMaintaining and Administering vaccinesAssist and Administer Electrocardiography (EKG)Ensuring proper collection of specimens: bloodwork, urinalysis, etcFront Office patient check in/out, verify demographics, verify insurance, make and verify appointmentsOther duties as assignedQualificationsBilingual Spanish, required High School Diploma/GED from a WASC accredited School, requiredMedical Assistant Diploma from an accredited school, requiredMust have experience in drawing blood and administering vaccinesBasic Life Support (BLS), requiredAbility to pass Basic Clerical Skills Test and Medical Assistant Competency Test.Minimum 2+ year experience front and back office medical clinic setting (*required)2yrs as a Medical Assistant assisting, training, directing Medical Assistants, preferredMust have current driver license, insurance and own reliable transportation (*required)Must have a valid established driver's licenseWilling to assist in coverage at Victorville and Mobile Clinic, as neededAdditional InformationMCCN Benefits include but are not limited to:403B retirement planAccrual of Sick TimeMedical, Dental, Vision and Life coverage (Benefits take effect 1st of the month following the 60 day waiting period.)Visa SponsorshipAfter 90 days of employmentUsage of Sick time accrualHoliday payBereavement pay (up to 3 days a year; blood family only) Jury Service pay (up to 5 days with proof of service)After 6 months of employmentVacation time accrual starts (roll over), able to use after 1yr of employmentJoining our team as a Medical Assistant offers the opportunity to work in a hospital setting, gain hands-on experience in patient care, and contribute to improving the health outcomes of our community.To Apply:Please email your resume/CV to HR Dept.MCCN is an Equal Opportunity Employer
