Medical Network of Alaska in Wasilla, Alaska, is looking to hire a skilled and professional Credentialing Specialist!
What You'll Do:
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for ensuring all healthcare providers maintain active and compliant credentials across MNA facilities, hospitals, surgery centers, and insurance payers, including commercial carriers, Medicare, and Medicaid. This role involves managing the end-to-end credentialing process for new and existing providers, maintaining accurate provider data in internal systems and external databases, and meeting regulatory deadlines for credentialing and revalidation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining active status for all providers by successfully completing initial and subsequent credentialing packages as required by hospitals, surgery centers, commercial payers, Medicare, and Medicaid. Maintain individual provider files to include up-to-date information needed to complete the required governmental and commercial payer credentialing applications. Maintain internal provider grid to ensure all information is accurate and logins are available. Update each provider's CAQH database file in a timely manner according to the schedule published by CAQH Complete revalidation requests issued by all payers. Credential new providers, service locations or divisions and re-credential current providers. Complete credentialing applications to add providers to commercial payers, Medicare, and Medicaid. Maintain accurate provider profiles on CAQH, PECOS, NPPES, and CMS databases. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support business needs.
What You Need For This Job:
Education & Experience: A minimum of two to four years of related experience and/or training. Minimum Education Level: High School Diploma or a combination of education and experience. Proficient in reading and interpreting documents, writing reports and correspondence, and speaking effectively to both customers and employees. Skilled in basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as calculating rates, ratios, percentages, and interpreting graphs. Applies common sense to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and solves problems with multiple variables in standard situations. Proficient in using EMR software, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams). Strong presentation and report preparation abilities. Must reside in or near Wasilla, Alaska. Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, or feel and talk and hear. Ability to occasionally sit, reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift and/or move 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
