Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our partner's team at a hospital-based Cardiology practice in Glenwood Springs, CO. This role is ideal for an advanced practice provider committed to delivering comprehensive and patient-centered cardiovascular care.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cardiologists and a multidisciplinary care team in both outpatient clinic and inpatient settings. This is a pivotal role requiring expertise in cardiovascular assessment, strong diagnostic abilities, and a commitment to promoting optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Excellence
- Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments and medical history reviews for patients in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Provide direct care in the outpatient clinic, including follow-up visits and patient education on cardiovascular conditions and management.
- Participate in inpatient rounding and consults, collaborating closely with the cardiology team to develop and execute care plans.
- Supervise and interpret stress testing procedures (echo, exercise, nuclear, dobutamine) and oversee Tilt Table testing, ensuring patient safety and proper documentation.
Operational Oversight
- Identify potential complications early and communicate findings effectively with the cardiology team and other healthcare professionals.
- Utilize sound judgment to delegate and direct clinical support staff, ensuring efficient and high-quality patient care.
- Ensure safe and high-quality patient care through effective care planning and execution, adhering to established protocols and standards.
Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Nursing (for NP) or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Colorado (DORA credentialing).
- Current DEA license in good standing.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA approved).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiology or a related specialty.
Preferred:
- Expertise in general healthcare and comprehensive cardiovascular assessments.
- Strong diagnostic and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in using EMR systems and documentation protocols.
