Responsible for patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist as mandated by State Practice Act. Possesses training and education which allows to assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out prescribed treatment program. Essential Functions:
Adhere to state Practice Act and laws governing Physical Therapist Assistants under licensed PT supervision. Complete required Medicare compliance and OSHA training annually. Clean and prepare treatment areas and equipment per OSHA standards. Implement skilled treatment programs as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist. Document patient information accurately and timely using proper medical terminology. Complete written documentation promptly to meet deadlines. Attend facility meetings as directed. Complete continuing education to meet state licensure requirements. Maintain current CPR certification as required by state licensure. Stay informed on general healthcare changes and issues affecting physical therapy. Contribute to specific centre operations as agreed with the Centre Manager. Perform other duties or special projects as assigned. Required Skills & Abilities:
Teamwork skills. Strong organizational and time management. Good listening and reading comprehension. Physical Requirements:
Lift patients using proper techniques, up to 50 lbs. Constant walking, bending, standing, and reaching. Sufficient vision for record-keeping and recognizing people. Clear speaking and hearing for communication. Ability to push wheeled equipment. Fine motor skills for scheduling and preparing treatment materials. Endurance for long activities in compliance with labour laws. Required Credentials:
Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited physical therapist assistant program, or an equivalent international program. Current valid state license/registration/certification
