St. Joseph's Children's Hospital is a tertiary care, 120-bed (including PICU & PCICU) hospital located in the heart of Tampa. The hospitalist program is staffed by approximately 4 FTE daily and 2 FTE nocturnists and cares for routine and medically complex children. This position includes the management of pediatric patients at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital and may potentially teach residents.
Responsibilities
- Provides in house night shift coverage (typically 7 PM to 7 AM) at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. This is a clinical position but may involve teaching residents. Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats infants, children, and adolescents in the inpatient setting. Primarily assigned to overnight shifts.
- Assigned to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a state university. Teach, research, service, and execute related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit statewide.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field. Requires licensure to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine in accordance with Chapters 458 or 459, Florida Statutes, plus three years of appropriate experience. Completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience.
- To perform this role, the physician will need to obtain and maintain a full unrestricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at their assigned hospitals.
- Clinical experience in an inpatient hospital setting within the last 12 months.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
