Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, or "CRMC", is a 25-bed, non-profit, critical access hospital serving Southeast Kansas and Northeast Oklahoma since 1949. Although we can provide many of the same services you will find in a big city, we take great pride in our friendly and caring staff.The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides the highest quality emergency care in a manner consistent with mandated protocols for EMT certification utilizing EMS equipment and personal skills. S/he interacts with patients and families in ages from neonatal to geriatric applying hospital Standards of Excellence with quality and compassion at the forefront of all interactionJOB DUTIESPatient Care:Perform vital signs including pulse ox; apply cardiac monitors, recording strips, and 12 and 15 lead EKG's (pediatric and adult)Maintain airways by BLS, and CPR/CRR, nasal and oral airway insertionAssist Paramedic with treatment of patients within the EMT scope of practiceDrive ambulance when neededProvide BLS careDocument Level 4 emergency calls and routine BLS transfersComplete initial assessments of patients in admissions and waiting roomRespond to EMS calls with 3rd and 4th hour personnel during high call volume in EMS or as extra personnel for transfers when needed and requested by Director or SupervisorMaintenance:Monitor and restock suppliesReport equipment issues to the Ambulance SupervisorComplete daily unit checks, daily cleaning of quarters, washing and maintaining ambulances and other EMS equipment daily, as neededAdditional:Serve as member of Code TeamCharting/documentation of medical recordsVarious other tasks assigned by the physician on dutyMaintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policyThe Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) assumes other responsibilities as assigned.JOB REQUIREMENTSAbility to frequently lift and/or move up to 150 pounds, as well as stand, walk, talk, hear, sit; reach with arms, hands and fingers to handle and feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; taste and smellAnalytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisionsStrong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff and the publicDetail oriented with proven ability to multitaskProfessional appearance and ease in developing rapport with othersAbility to see with close, distance, full color, peripheral, full depth vision and adjust focus, requiredAbility to relate well with all levels of the hospital/facility and medical staff, requiredAbility to care for patients of all nationalities, cultures, beliefs, self-identifications, and ages, requiredAbility to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations; ability to work under pressure and stress; requiredKnowledge of an accreditation process and requirements, preferredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEGraduate of an approved EMT program and successful completion of EMS State Board Exam, requiredCurrent BLS Certification, requiredCurrent valid Kansas Driver's' License, requiredSuccessful completion of Field internship, requiredSuccessful completion of CRMC EMS Orientation, requiredOne-year hospital ED experience, preferredCRMC BENEFITS OVERVIEWOur comprehensive compensation plan includes, the following benefits.Generous paid time offMedical/Dental/VisionKansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS)403B Retirement SavingsAdditional Voluntary InsuranceFederal Student Loan Public Service Loan Forgiveness Eligible EmployerVoluntary Short Term DisabilityEmployee Assistant ProgramFree Indoor Walking Track & GymWe are excited to learn about you and hope you join us on a shared mission serving every generation with patient centered, compassionate care.
