Join our team as a Medical Coder II, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding and billing processes for inpatient and outpatient encounters. Your responsibilities will include: Assigning ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes, along with appropriate DRG assignments. Using CPT-4 procedure codes and APC assignments to support outpatient coding efforts. Clarifying documentation with physicians and clinical departments to ensure coding accuracy. Maintaining and managing work queues to meet productivity standards. Verifying data from electronic medical records for integrity. Assisting Revenue Services with inquiries related to coding and billing processes. Adhering to compliance guidelines and engaging in continuing education to stay current on coding practices. Promoting the mission and values of SCL Health as you perform your duties. Preferred qualifications include an Associate Degree in Health Information or a related field and at least three years of coding experience in a hospital setting. You should possess coding credentials such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, COC, CIC, or CCA. Successful candidates will have: Exceptional technical and critical thinking skills. Proficiency in MS Office products, particularly Word and Excel. Strong communication abilities to interact with medical professionals. Experience with coding software like 3M encoder and Epic. The position is located at St Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, Montana, and requires working forty hours per week, with the possibility of night and weekend shifts.
