Job Description:
Marysville Post Acute is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. The COTA will work closely with the Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide individualized therapy services to residents, helping them regain functional independence and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Occupational Therapist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for residents with physical, mental, or developmental disabilities.
Provide therapy treatments as directed by the OT, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADLs) training, and adaptive equipment education.
Document residents' progress, responses to treatment, and any changes in condition in compliance with facility policies and state regulations.
Collaborate with other members of the rehabilitation team, including physical therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and social workers, to deliver comprehensive care.
Maintain a positive, encouraging environment that promotes residents' confidence and well-being.
Educate residents and their families on therapeutic interventions and provide resources for continued care outside of the facility.
Ensure all treatment areas, therapy equipment, and supplies are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident progress and adjust treatment goals as necessary.
Qualifications:
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing in the state of California.
Current CPR certification.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or related healthcare setting (preferred).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with a commitment to helping residents achieve their maximum potential.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time and workload effectively.
