The Power BI Developer plays a pivotal role in leveraging analytical and visualization techniques to transform organizational data into actionable insights. By identifying patterns and relationships across diverse data sources, this position empowers stakeholders to make informed decisions and drive strategic goals. As a member of an Agile Team, the developer collaborates closely with the Data Engineering, Survey and Evaluation, and Operational Reporting teams to shape and maintain RSNA's robust data landscape.

This role requires the ability to independently design and deliver complete Power BI reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience owning the full lifecycle of Power BI report development, including data sourcing, query writing, modeling, calculations in SQL and DAX, and dashboard design-with the ability to work across multiple data sources. Proficiency in DAX is expected when additional logic is needed within Power BI.

Utilize SQL programming expertise to design, edit, and optimize queries, and to construct scalable data models. Combine and transform data from multiple sources, including the enterprise data warehouse and external systems, to support reporting and analysis. Create visually compelling and insightful reports using Power BI and other data analytics tools. Use a combination of SQL and DAX to build accurate and efficient calculations and metrics tailored to business needs. Develop deep expertise in RSNA's data, contributing to the growth of its data assets, including data warehousing and analytics platforms. Analyze trends and correlations across varied data sources, translating complex findings into business insights and actionable recommendations for stakeholders. Establish and uphold reporting standards for data extraction, visualization, and presentation. Identify and address data integrity challenges to ensure accuracy and reliability of insights. Maintain the organization's data dictionary to enhance cross-departmental understanding and foster a culture of data literacy. Use version control tools such as Azure DevOps to manage report code, changes, and deployment workflows. Perform additional tasks as needed to support organizational goals. Qualifications & Skills

A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience/certifications. At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with SQL programming for data querying and management. At least 2+ years of hands-on experience creating data visualizations using Power BI with DAX. Experience working with multiple data sources, including data warehouses and external datasets, with a strong ability to write complex queries that combine them effectively. Strong analytical and reasoning abilities to identify, understand, and resolve complex challenges. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey insights and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Experience with version control practices using tools such as Azure DevOps or Git is strongly preferred.
