This entry-level driver training role involves learning to drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on diverse routes to deliver and unload various food products for customers. All routes should be completed safely in accordance with company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The driver trainee will communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring high standards of service.

Position Responsibilities:

Complete the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program, ensuring all necessary documentation is maintained. Ride with and support a driver trainer in executing deliveries while adhering to their guidance. Conduct all required safety checks according to DOT regulations, reporting any safety issues. Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving policies, reporting any hazards immediately. Inspect trailers to ensure products are loaded correctly and securely. Complete all required paperwork accurately. Deliver customer orders following a predetermined route schedule. Unload products and transport them to designated storage areas, conduct damage checks, and verify deliveries with customers, obtaining necessary signatures. Ensure the security of all equipment, freight, and trailers. Unload damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary documentation. Keep accurate logs of service hours per Federal DOT, state, and company guidelines. Maintain cleanliness in the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers, securing all equipment at the end of shifts. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent. Internal candidates must have 1 year of service in good standing and qualify for the CDL Permit and DOT Health Card. External hires should have 0-6 months experience with a valid CDL A. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years, and pass a post-offer drug test and road test. A valid current DOT Health Card is also required. Ability to lift and move product cases weighing between 60 to 90 pounds is necessary.
