The Nursing Program at Shoreline Community College provides real-world instruction in the in-demand healthcare field. We are approved by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission and nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Graduates pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) at a higher rate than the national average. Under the general direction of the Associate Dean of Nursing, the Program Specialist 2 - Nursing schedules and monitors program activities and performs other work in support of program goals. The person in this position exercises independent judgement in interpreting and applying rules and regulations to meet accreditation, program, facility, college, and state standards.
Primary responsibilities include the following: Coordinate the daily activities of the Nursing Program Establish application files and processes a high volume of Nursing Program applications Support the Nursing Program with data tracking to maintain ACEN accreditation compliance Maintain and update public-facing program information including nursing program brochure and nursing program website Establish and maintain records for pre-nursing and 200+ current students and graduates according to program protocols Prepare graduation packets and complete Certificates of Completion for the WA State Board of Nursing; assist with annual reports for the Nursing Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) Provide technology support when needed. May include ExamSoft troubleshooting, website updates, and assistance with the online application process Serve as the first point of contact for students, visitors, and faculty-acting not only as a welcoming presence but also as an efficient hub for information and administrative support Provide guidance on the application process, schedule information sessions for students Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
High school degree or equivalent; AND Two years' related experience Knowledge Of:
Microsoft Office applications such as SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word programs Skill In:

Physical Work Environment: The College is currently providing services in a mixed modality of operations (both online and in-person services are offered). This position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings both on and off campus. Please note, there may be limited opportunities for online work depending on program or area needs. If authorized for online work, employees will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs.
Terms Of Employment/Salary: This position is allocated to pay range 42under the Washington State Office of Financial Management higher education salary schedule. Salary placement for new employees is determined by the College. This position works 40 hours per week, with a schedule dependent upon department needs. Hiring of this position is contingent on available funding as determined by the College President.
