Chemical Dependency Counselor (LSW/LPC)

Salary:
$22.13 - $30.46 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide therapeutic counseling using a bio-psychosocial approach to individuals grappling with chemical dependency issues. Educate patients and their families on the disease processes of chemical dependencies. Facilitate group discussions, lead therapy sessions, and oversee the effectiveness of group activities handled by Mental Health Technicians. Carefully assess patient needs to recommend and assign suitable therapy groups. Accurately complete all required billing documentation daily while maintaining records of patient progress and therapy outcomes. Through the use of both historical and contemporary patient data, optimize counseling methods to achieve the best recovery outcomes. Provide essential individual and group crisis intervention as well as coordinate clinical interventions for families. Play a key role in acting as a client advocate, mediator, and facilitator in therapeutic sessions and team discussions. Minimum Position Qualifications:
Licensed by the Chemical Dependency Professionals Board. Current professional licensure as LCDC II, LCDC III, or LICDC; must be above a CDCA level. Formal education in social work or counseling with valid LSW or LPC credentials. Extensive experience and proven ability in handling group and individual therapy sessions specifically for chemical dependency. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills. Demonstrated ability to work compassionately and effectively with diverse patient populations. Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting dealing with chemical dependencies. Advanced certifications in chemical dependency counseling or related fields. Experience in using electronic health records and other healthcare information systems. Strong ability to engage and educate patient groups in a compelling manner. Background in crisis intervention tactics, especially related to drug and alcohol abuse recovery. Skills:
Proficient in therapeutic counseling techniques and strategies. Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Empathy and understanding in dealing with patients suffering from chemical dependence. Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team. Benefits:
