Administrative Director of Surgical Services Job Summary

The Administrative Director of Surgical Services plays a strategic role in providing exceptional patient service, fostering service line growth, developing leadership, and managing resources within the surgical services department. This position is pivotal in maintaining strong relationships with physicians and administration, while demonstrating a high level of business acumen. Key Responsibilities Actively participate in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees, providing ongoing communication. Advance the customer experience in Surgical Services. Coach immediate subordinates, providing feedback, constructive critique, and facilitating individual development plans. Adhere to all Human Resource policies. Effectively communicate departmental, organization, and industry information to staff. Facilitate evidence-based employee engagement practices. Build strong relationships and networks to deliver organizational and department goals. Utilize talent review data for pipeline development. Foster strategic career advancement for perioperative services leaders. Set strategic vision and goals for the department. Design standards of care for surgical services and develop processes to ensure consistent compliance. Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing surgical services program aligning with the Hospital mission. Monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies, ensuring environmental, patient, and personnel safety. Oversee a PI program that evaluates critical aspects of care. Ensure departmental operational excellence, delivering quality services in accordance with policies, procedures, and professional standards. Follow the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens. Promote cooperation and collaboration with other departments, medical staff, auxiliary, and community agencies to facilitate optimum patient care. Seek new program strategies and enhancements to expand patient services. Develop, prioritize, and defend capital equipment requests. Manage the fiscal aspect of the department, ensuring proper utilization of financial resources. Advance the growth agenda for Surgical Services. Promote service line growth through strategic relationships with medical staff. Strive to become the OR of Choice for physicians, patients, staff, and payers in the community. Demonstrate a poised and confident demeanor, commanding respect within the organization and community. Develop and build strategic internal and external networks. Promote consistent positive patient interactions to advance unparalleled patient service. Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement." Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in surgical services required. 3+ years of leadership experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice. Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) preferred. Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred. Additional Information 6 Operating Rooms. Reports to VP of Surgical Services. The facility seeks an individual highly engaged with the team, very visible, and hands-on.

Pay Range:

$125,000 - $180,440 per year
