Safety Manager
to support
EHS oversight at a hyperscale data center construction project
in
Reno, NV . This mid-term contract is ideal for professionals with hands-on safety oversight experience in
electrical and carpentry scopes , particularly in fast-paced, high-tech construction environments.
Compensation: Local Rate: $50-$55/hr Non-Local Rate: $44-$47/hr + $125/day per diem Pay Frequency: Weekly Completion Bonus: $150/month (Payable pending successful project completion)
Schedule: Hours: 40-60 hours/week Schedule: Monday - Saturday Shift: 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM (Second Shift)
Project Scope: This role involves full-time EHS oversight during the
installation of electrical and structural systems
at a hyperscale data center new build. The Safety Manager will conduct field inspections, monitor subcontractor compliance, support JHA development, and ensure all work aligns with OSHA 1926 and client-specific safety protocols. This role operates on the
second shift , covering high-risk construction activities during off-hours.
Qualifications: ✅ OSHA 510 Certification (Required) ✅ 3+ years of experience providing safety oversight in electrical and carpentry trades ✅ NFPA 70E Training (Required) ✅ Current First Aid/CPR Certification ✅ Strong knowledge of fall protection, lockout/tagout, and energized work procedures ✅ Experience conducting JSAs, safety audits, and incident investigations ✅ Excellent communication and documentation skills ✅ EM 385 experience preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine site inspections and field safety audits
Monitor electrical and carpentry work for OSHA and site-specific compliance
Support permitting, hazard mitigation, and corrective action planning
Lead toolbox talks, tailgate meetings, and pre-task planning sessions
Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting
Collaborate with site leadership and trades to uphold a strong safety culture
Skills:
Advanced understanding of OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E electrical safety
Familiarity with commercial construction sequencing, especially in data center environments
Ability to work independently during second-shift operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mobile safety management tools
Knowledge Base: Comprehensive knowledge of industrial electrical safety, confined space hazards, carpentry risk factors, and second-shift construction logistics. Prior experience on data center or mission-critical construction projects is highly preferred.
