Client Details:
The New York Power Authority (NYPA) is the largest state public power organization in the United States, renowned for its role in providing clean, affordable, and reliable energy. NYPA's mission is to power New York with clean energy while driving economic growth and sustainability. It focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, modernizing the state's energy infrastructure, and promoting energy efficiency and innovation across sectors .
New York Power Authority's ("NYPA") current on-premise Enterprise Resource Planning ("ERP") system, SAP ECC 6.0, is almost 20 years old and is approaching technological obsolescence. Systems Application and Products ("SAP") has already released its statement of intent to end new development on that platform and is planning on removing it from standard support on December 31, 2027. Project Luminate is a program to replace NYPA's current on-premise ERP system with a cloud-based system to ensure an adaptable environment able to meet NYPA's needs. In 2023, NYPA awarded a contract to Gartner Inc. to perform a detailed readiness assessment to define key requirements that the new system has to meet and to identify current business process improvements that are critical to be addressed as a precursor to the transition to a cloud-based platform.
Key Responsibilities:
The BA will play a key role gathering functional and technical requirements, conducting data mapping, assisting with test plans and scripts, executing testing, assisting with stakeholder communications and change management this assignment, the BA will, at a minimum: Create, maintain and review Functional Requirements. Create, maintain and review business Process flow documents and Business process documents. Create, maintain and review Technical Requirements document. Create, maintain and review Requirements Traceability Matrix. Create, maintain and review data mapping documents and Technical Interface specification for electronic files (e-files). Support review of business analysis deliverables from the vendor. Provide guidance on S/4 HANA capabilities to the NYPA team in modules like ISU Billing, Procurement, Finance. Support creation and maintenance of maintain and review test strategy, scenarios and scripts. Assist team in developing application support RACI and support handover documents. Assist team with stakeholder communications. Assist team with completion of provided Business Impact Assessment and Technology Impact Assessment forms. Weekly status reports. Meeting agendas, materials, and minutes for weekly meetings. Qualifications:
Extensive functional experience in SAP/S4 HANA especially ISU- Utilities, SAP FICO, SAP MM, SAP SD. Extensive experience in developing detailed requirements - functional and technical. Experience with Azure DevOps. Knowledge of proper requirements specification and development, such as process/functional requirements definition methods, JAD/RAD sessions, use case development, process flow diagrams. Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall Methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. A deep understanding of technical concepts, principles and terminology. Knowledge of data science concepts and experience gathering data requirements. Ability to work in a team environment with both employees and consultants is a must. Ability to communicate effectively across many different levels of technical and business teams. Ability to engage diplomatically with stakeholders. Demonstrated experience with Agile and hybrid project methodologies. Superior presentation and negotiation skills. Proven management and organizational skills. Strong adaptability and capacity to work in fast-paced environments. Education & Certifications
BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited school, or equivalent. 10+ years of applicable experience, preferably in Business Analysis for IT projects including cloud computing and data integration. Preferred Qualifications:

IIBA Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA) IIBA Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) IIBA Agile Analysis Certification (AAC) IQBBA Certified Foundation Level Business Analyst (CFLBA) IREB Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE) PMI-Professional in Business Analysis (PBA) Certification Certifications in Agile, DevOps a plus The wage range for this role reflects the wide array of factors considered in compensation decisions.
