This position plays a critical role in the continued growth of our organization. As a Infrastructure Engineer, you will collaborate directly with our senior engineers, architects, consultants, sales team and Sayers staff to provide exceptional value to our clients. Your growth will depend on your ability to learn, assist, engage, contribute and provide the knowledge back to our clients, engineers and other key stake holders.

Maintaining and optimizing the functionality and performance of the environment's critical infrastructure and systems for the Center of Excellence Physical and Virtual Compute Storage Networking Cloud Connectivity Engineering Connectivity Virtual Private Networks (VPN) Enterprise Backup Windows Administration Hardware/System Administration Cybersecurity Logging/Observability Change Management Maintain the infrastructure for the configuration centers and project workbenches Ability to perform technical task on various projects Burn-in Unpacking/packing/storing/inventorying hardware systems, appliances and more Device configuration - firmware, software, hardware, high-availability Installing memory, drives, and other components for custom client solutions Installing switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and more Copper and fiber optic cabling and cable management Vendor and Industry Certifications (potential for multiple per quarter) Extensive Vendor and Industry Research Lab Projects/Administration Technical writing - blogs, research, white papers, client communication, technical step-by-step instructions Assisting senior level engineers and architects on various client, vendor and special projects Assist in sales opportunities, engage with fortune 250 clients (as needed and when ready) Mentor/Trainer - Ability to train and support engineers on all aspects of the environment and technical solutions that our organization sells, supports and leveraging to ensure overall company and resource success Local engineering resource for special regional (Chicagoland) projects requiring "Remote Hands / Boots on the ground". Would desire at least five (5) years of general IT experience at a minimum IT experience in installation, configuration, analyzing, optimizing and troubleshooting Passion, knowledge, skills and abilities in information technology is a must Industry and major vendor certifications are expected Location
Chicago and surrounding suburbs - must live locally Daily/Weekly on-site visits to facilities in Vernon Hills, Oakbrook, Rosemont, downtown Chicago and surrounding areas - project dependent Remote work allowed when not needed in prior noted locations and situations Limited travel outside the Chicagoland area expected
