SUMMARY:

This is a critical position on the assembly line and is primarily responsible for performing under limited supervision in the assembly of ground support equipment. This position will also be providing instructional lead to assembly workers pertaining to the assembly of dashes in towing tractors by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Builds Firewall and dashes by following schematics, wiring colors and work instructions

Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment

Installs lights, switches, displays and wiring harness. May also include installing tail lights, head lights, hydraulic brake system and brake lines

Operates any equipment needed to perform job including but not limited to, soldering irons, heat guns, hand crimpers, voltmeter and various other electrical tools

Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations

Inspects own work performed prior to Quality Inspection and Final Inspection Reports

Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Production Supervisor

Prepares dashes and associated electrical components for final inspection

Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned including Electric Axle building and installation

Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:

Must Have a High school Diploma

Minimum 1-3 months certified training or equivalent work experience

Three years experience with hand and air tools prior to mechanical assembly of automobiles

Electrical systems knowledge, including computerized induction/ignition systems

Able to read electrical schematics and identify colored wires

Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in vehicle and equipment Wiring, repair and maintenance

Diagnosing mechanical and/or electrical problems and performing repairs

Mechanical design and fabrication

Safety practices and procedures

Lithium battery, wiring and safety practices experience a plus

Must have an aptitude and willingness to cross-train and work in other areas as needed
