Job Description Active Directory Solutions Architect Consultant This role is requiring someone to come and evaluate the client's current Active Directory environment and provide recommendations on areas for improvement in design, security, compliance and integration. Responsibilities will be touching various parts of the AD group including;
Architecture and Design:
Plan for high availability, scalability, disaster recovery, and secure access. Design Group Policy Objects (GPOs), organizational units (OUs), and delegation models. Security and Compliance:
Implement identity governance and secure authentication (e.g., Kerberos, NTLM, smart cards). Enforce least privilege access, role-based access control, and auditing policies. Ensure the AD environment meets compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOX, ISO). Integration:
Integrate AD with other identity systems (e.g., Azure AD, LDAP directories, cloud applications). Support single sign-on (SSO), federation (e.g., ADFS), and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Migration and Upgrades:
Involved in domain migrations, AD forest consolidations, or upgrades Plan and execute AD schema extensions and domain functional level upgrades. Collaboration and Leadership:
Work closely with security, network, and cloud teams. Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers. Document architecture, policies, and operational procedures.
