ECMO Manager
Location:
Northern Virginia
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, occasional exceptions
Stats : 120-160 cases per year. Top 10% in the US for volume
Position Overview
The ECLS Manage ensures ECMO program readiness, including equipment, staffing, education, and quality initiatives. This is a highly independent role requiring strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. The manager serves as the primary liaison between us and the hospital, ensuring high-quality patient care and team management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor the ECLS Pediatric Coordinator and ECMO team. Manage ECMO scheduling, staffing levels, and performance reviews. Provide ECMO education, training, and competency evaluations. Assess ECMO circuits, troubleshoot issues, and recommend safe solutions. Collaborate with hospital leadership on quality initiatives and process improvements. Participate in ECMO case reviews and mortality & morbidity discussions. Maintain professionalism and excellent communication with staff, patients, and families. Represent Innovative ECMO Concepts positively in all interactions. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and company standards. Requirements
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in nursing, Respiratory Care, or Perfusion Technology (master's preferred). Licensure:
Active Virginia license (if applicable). Experience:
2+ years of ECMO experience with in-depth knowledge of extracorporeal life support. Skills:
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
