ADMINISTRATOR - DIRECTOR, Custodial ServicesQUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma. Advanced college work in a field related to the area of maintenance or custodial care of a building would be helpful. Prior custodial experience is preferred. Strong organizational skills in managing multiple activities are necessary. Ability to successfully manage/supervise custodial crews at all school sites is necessary. Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable. REPORTS TO: Executive Director Support Services - ClassifiedJOB GOAL: Performs all administrative tasks associated with leading the custodial services department to maintain the physical school facilities in a condition of operating excellence, cleanliness, and safetyESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Establishes and administers schedules and procedures for the regular, ongoing custodial care of all school and office facilities of the district. Recruits, screens, recommends for hiring, assigns, and supervises all custodial staff workers. Organize and implement an orientation program on proper operation and maintenance of school facilities for departmental personnel. Select the custodial supplies and equipment to be used and maintain an appropriate inventory of them. Maintains schedules of work for each individual building and sees to it that proper supplies are on hand in all buildings. Calls meetings of the custodial staff when it is deemed necessary for purposes of training or information. Establishes and supervises summer cleaning programs and schedules. Organizes and orchestrates summer moves as needed. Supervises the gym floor crew in a program of cleaning and refinishing gym floors. Works with the maintenance director in establishing guidelines for the division of responsibility for minor in-school repairs and emergency repairs. Inspect each building as often as necessary and confer with the facility manager and building administrator regarding custodial work. Manages the school security system at all district sites. Attends all district administrator meetings. Communicate regularly with the Executive Director of Support Services about custodian problems and concerns. Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers on a regularly scheduled basis. Prepares and administers the custodial services budget. Maintains such personnel and other records as are required. Prepares reports, as necessary. Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills. Adheres to good safety practices. Adheres to all district rules, regulations, and policies. Other duties as required or assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, Ten, Eleven, or Twelve-month year. Salary to be established by the Board.EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor.
