Job Summary:
As a Land Survey Technician, you will play a vital role in surveying land to determine locations and measurements of points, elevations, line areas, and contours for a variety of purposes including construction, mapmaking, land division, and titles. Responsibilities and Duties: Conduct fieldwork on civil engineering, construction, and general surveying projects, such as topographic, ALTA, boundary, Right of Way, and as-built surveys, with guidance from a senior survey technician. Maintain accurate notes, records, and sketches to document work performed. Place stakes at specified points and secure them in the ground. Operate and maintain equipment including a tablet computer, digital camera, survey grade GPS, robotic total stations, and other measuring tools, while wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. Represent JEO and our clients professionally on-site. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the project team on a daily basis. Qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent. 2+ years of experience in land surveying preferred. Ability to complete topographic surveys with assistance. Strong reading and comprehension skills for instructions, correspondence, and memos. Commitment to efficient and safe work habits. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Physical Requirements: Ability to work 95% of the time in the field. Capable of standing for extended periods and walking across various terrains while carrying equipment up to 50 pounds.
