Student Information Systems (SIS) Coordinator

REPORTS TO:

Assistant Superintendent

JOB GOAL:

The Student Information Systems (SIS) Coordinator works under general direction and exercises independent judgment and initiative and is responsible for evaluation coordination, implementation, customization, training, hardware and software support of PowerSchool. The purpose of this position is to maintain the integrity of district data and complete all necessary reports to the state including the KIDS data.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree or equivalent experience. Expertise in computer software application including word processing database, and spreadsheets, with two years related experience and experience with SIS software. Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of computer hardware systems and software applications utilized by the District. Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask and work under pressure and time constraints. Must be able to handle confidential information appropriately. Must be able to conceptualize, handle multiple priorities and apply tact, diplomacy, reason, and logic. RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate all technology software and equipment appropriately. Orient and instruct staff in how to us technology and programs. Provide tech support for assessments systems, including assistance with data entry and training. Communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with members of the school district, students and community. Work to implement the vision and mission of the District. Ensure all activities conform to District guidelines. React to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner, meeting deadlines as assigned. Regular attendance is required of all employees subject to allowed leave in accordance with district policy or negotiated agreement, as appropriate. Excessive absences or tardiness, unauthorized leave or unexcused absences may result in disciplinary action including termination of employment. Responsible for SIS Data maintenance of District Cloud PowerSchool server. Responsible for support issues related to PowerSchool Serve as initial resource to resolve PowerSchool related problems. Stay as local point of contact for activities involving PowerSchool. Stay informed of upcoming PowerSchool updates and attends trainings. Assist schools in configuring schedules and attendance setup. Make recommendations for changes in procedures to ensure the consistency of data entry in PowerSchool. Supervise and provide training to data entry personnel and KIDS file upload procedures Verify the KIDS up load files are sent from the sites according to an established schedule. Download KIDS error files and work with State and district staff on correcting KIDS errors. Attend state KIDS training on a regular basis. Provide light technical support as time permits. Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work involves sitting most of the time. Work independently without continuous supervision. Work to implement the vision and mission of the District. Maintain the confidentiality of the district documents, business conversations, and student information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Requires prolonged sitting or standing. Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching. Must work in noisy and crowded environments with numerous interruptions. Requires regular attendance and physical presence at the job. Visual Acuity-must be able to see a computer terminal and be capable of extensive reading, and operation of machines at distance close to the eyes and computer eye fatigue. Manual Dexterity: Performing tasks that involve fine motor skills, such as grasping, typing or other hand-focused activities. Reaching and repetitive motions: Extending hand(s) and arm (s) in any direction. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and /or fingers.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Classified employee/at-will employee from July 1 to June 30. Compensation at an hourly rate. Health insurance and other Section 125 benefits available as per Board policy. Vacation, holidays, and leave as per Board policy.
