Job Description: General Manager of Distribution

Havtech Supply, a stocking distributor for commercial HVAC Parts, Supplies and Equipment for Mechanical Contractors and Building Owners/End Users, is seeking an experienced General Manager to help grow and shape our business. Our rapid expansion coupled with strong product partnerships provides for an incredible opportunity for a proactive leader looking to drive a business through its next exciting phase.
Summary
The General Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of our distribution operations that will lead to profitable growth and geographic expansion. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading and driving sales and operations, developing, and implementing instrumental distribution strategies, managing warehouse operations, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards across multiple locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned.

  • Develop and implement distribution strategies to meet business objectives for Havtech Supply to achieve parts and equipment annual revenue and profitability targets.
  • Increase Havtech Supply’s footprint by identifying and managing opportunities for business expansion into new geographic locations as driven by market and business demands.
  • In partnership with the VP of Distribution Sales, leverage local market intelligence to develop sales and marketing plans. In conjunction with product management and supply management, incorporate new offerings into the Parts and replacement equipment portfolio to expand and strengthen the customer base and provide increased sales/margin growth.
  • Develop strong relationships with existing and new customers, business partners, suppliers, and colleagues to achieve sales and profitability goals and build market share. Identify and develop new customer channels to expand the business.
  • Utilize customer satisfaction data to better understand the overall customer experience. Investigate concerns and implement corrective actions. Create a culture of exceptional customer service.
  • Oversee large scale projects and business initiatives to maximize customer experience, brand presence and sales growth.
  • Lead the overall inventory control process through the oversight of replenishment, stocking, cycle counting, physical inventory, receiving and managing slow-moving obsolete inventory. Deploy effective processes to efficiently manage inventory levels and ensure desired availability to customers. Enable operational efficiency by implementing best practices and new technology.
  • Develop organizational capability through effective assessment and selection of associates. Responsible for performance management, coaching, and ongoing associate development.
  • Ensure frequent and timely communications with associates and cross departmental teams as appropriate. Encourage feedback and collaboration. Effectively lead and manage change.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • BS degree required, preferably in engineering. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of related experience in business, people management, inventory management, technical retail sales/service or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a strong understanding of HVAC and Refrigeration to include suppliers, customers, and general industry.
  • Must have experience with developing and executing business and strategic plans across multiple regions.
  • Must be able to manage complex business relationships with manufacturers, customers, and partner organizations.
  • Must have strong PC experience in Windows environment, working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Web-enabled applications and database software. CRM experience preferred. Proficiency in inventory management system or retail sales program a plus.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
