Network Engineering Engineer (On-Site Houston)
The
Engineer, Network Engineering
will ensure the integrity & stability of all Ezee Fiber network services. This role includes configuration, testing, installation & maintenance of all networking equipment. The Network Engineering group also provides Tier 3 & 4 Support for the Ezee Fiber NOC. A Network Engineer will typically be the first responder to major outage events & provide after-hours/weekend On-Call support for Ezee Fiber customers. The role will also include the creation of process & procedure documents for managing network assets.

Responsibilities Work with a variety of technologies: Active Ethernet, GPON, XGSPON, DWDM, CWDM, MetroE, CGNAT, OTDR, OLM, 802.11ac, 802.11ax Work with a variety of vendors: Cisco, Ciena, Calix, Juniper, Nokia, SmartOptics, BTI, EXFO, JDSU Planning for network growth to ensure availability & scalability Installation & testing of network core services & equipment Provide Tier 3 & 4 support to the Ezee Fiber NOC Curate network documentation Maintain network equipment inventory Testing & verification of customer services Evaluate new technologies for future use Provide technical expertise to other Ezee Fiber departments Maintain relationships with vendor & customer contacts Requirements
Have internet service provider experience Large telephone or cable experience Dealt with multiple accounts and locations Advanced technical troubleshooting skills Knowledge of Cisco IOS Professional experience with Cisco routers & switches At least 2 years of experience as Network Engineer or equivalent role Associates degree or equivalent Ability to lift up to 55 pounds General computer fluency Excellent verbal & written communication Mastery of MS Office applications Ability to work well in a team environment Preferred
Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, etc.) Industry Standard Certifications (Network +, Security +, etc.) Knowledge of Juniper OS Knowledge of Nokia IXR platform 5 years experience as Network Engineer or equivalent in a Service Provider environment Professional experience with GPON & XGSPON technologies Professional experience working in a Metro Ethernet environment What we offer:
