As a
Machine Learning Engineer , you will be at the forefront of AI innovation, building models that bridge scientific understanding and visual storytelling.
Responsibilities include: Structured Visual Generation:
Combine computer vision and code generation techniques to produce structured, editable visual outputs (e.g., SVG/JSON). Scientific Context Modeling:
Build systems that understand biological content and translate it into clear, story-driven graphics. Natural Language Interfaces:
Enable intuitive, chat-based figure editing with an emphasis on scientific accuracy. ML R&D and Deployment:
Conduct cutting-edge experimentation while deploying scalable models into production pipelines. You'll work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver solutions that go far beyond plug-and-play AI-tackling unsolved problems that require deep technical creativity and practical implementation skills. Ideal Candidate Background
Experience:
7+ years of direct ML engineering experience, with a record of ownership over impactful models used in production. Domain Knowledge:
Prior work with
foundation models ,
text-to-image generation , or
generative AI
applications. Industry Impact:
Demonstrated success building ML products that reached users at scale (e.g., Adobe Firefly or similar). Work History:
Blend of startup agility and experience in top-tier tech environments. Education:
Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related fields from a top academic institution. Tech Stack Expertise:
Proficient in Python and familiar with deep learning libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow). Experience deploying models in production. Preferred Strong understanding of
computer vision , vector graphics (e.g., SVG), or multimodal model development. Research background in ML/AI (e.g., publications in top-tier conferences). Previous roles in companies or labs focused on
generative modeling ,
AI-first interfaces , or
scientific data . Experience at companies like Adobe (Firefly team), NVIDIA, Midjourney, ElevenLabs, or AI-native startups. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range:
