Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to lead server migration projects from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure and private cloud platforms. This role requires deep expertise in Windows Server infrastructure, cloud identity, and secure access technologies. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience designing and executing server migrations, configuring secure hybrid cloud environments, and integrating identity services using Azure AD and related tools.

Key Responsibilities: Plan and execute server migrations from on-premises infrastructure to Azure or private cloud environments (IaaS-focused). Assess existing Windows Server workloads (e.g., file servers, AD DS, application servers) and develop migration strategies. Build and configure cloud-based infrastructure using Azure virtual machines, storage, and networking services. Implement hybrid identity solutions, including Azure AD Connect, Entra ID, and domain controller extensions in Azure. Configure and manage Azure AD, Conditional Access, and Global Secure Access to enforce modern identity security. Set up and optimize supporting services such as DNS, DHCP, group policies, and SMB/NFS shares in the cloud. Integrate cloud-hosted workloads with security and compliance policies, including Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel (as applicable). Troubleshoot authentication, network, or infrastructure issues during and post-migration. Collaborate with networking teams to configure VPNs, firewalls, NSGs, route tables, and private endpoints. Document infrastructure, configurations, and standard operating procedures for client handoff. Work closely with project managers to ensure timelines, milestones, and success criteria are met. Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) administration and migrations. Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure in Microsoft Azure or private cloud platforms. Strong knowledge of Azure AD, Entra Domain Services, Azure AD Connect, and Conditional Access policies. Familiarity with Global Secure Access and other Microsoft cloud identity and access solutions. Solid understanding of networking (VPN, DNS, routing, firewalls, NSGs, subnets) in hybrid environments. Ability to independently lead infrastructure projects and collaborate with client stakeholders. Strong communication skills for technical documentation and client-facing updates. Preferred Qualifications:

Microsoft certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-800/801, SC-300, MS-102). Experience integrating security tools like Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, or Sentinel. Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Files, or hybrid identity for legacy app environments. Experience in MSP or consulting environments supporting small to mid-sized clients.
