A community services organization in New York City is looking to add a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join their growing team at one of their group homes in Brooklyn and Queens.

PrecisionCare Responsibilities:

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will:

Review medical records, verify MD's orders and the Occupational therapist's assessment prior to implementing OT treatment Communicate with supervisor regarding persons receiving services in the areas of cognitive/perceptual skills, sensor-motor, musculoskeletal status, CNS status, the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment needs Integrate input from persons receiving services, family, and direct care staff in treatment Write specific, objective, and measurable documentation, Provide training to persons receiving services, families and/or direct care staff in specific supportive programs Participate and attend care plan/team meetings as needed for persons receiving OT services Implement a treatment plan, generated by the OT, including ROM, therapeutic exercise, cognitive/perceptual re-training, ADL, wheelchair mobility, pre-vocational skills, and application of physical agent modalities: hot packs, cold packs, and paraffin Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy school NYS Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license Desired Skills:

Experience with Wheelchair assessment Experience working with people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
