Our central hub is at the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU indowntown Richmond, with satellite locations and community clinics allthroughout Central Virginia.
Chief Purpose of this position:
The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary and SleepMedicine at the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU is seeking an individualat the Associate Professor or Professor rank to join our team. Candidatesshould be eager to join and augment a superior academic pulmonary and sleepdivision that provides clinical coverage within a Pediatric Medical Center thathas recently experienced significant dynamic growth with a new outpatientclinic building, a new 6-bed pediatric sleep lab, and a new inpatient hospital.
Position Responsibilities: Clinical: Faculty member will provide clinical care inpediatric sleep medicine, both in the outpatient and inpatient setting. Will work weekends and take call asnecessary. Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilitiesin the area of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. Faculty member willprovide teaching and mentorship to Medical Students, Residents, and Fellows. Research: Research aspirations areencouraged but not required; support for these activities will depend uponprior accomplishments and potential. Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental orSchool of Medicine committees when appropriate, as well in a professionalcapacity in their field, e.g.: reviewer, conference organizer, etc. Other: Faculty member will take on administrative duties associated with this role. Required Qualifications:
Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology Experience with clinical care of patients ages birth to 21 Experience with education of house staff, medical students, and others Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU Preferred Qualifications:
Training and Board Certification in Sleep Medicine Previous experience in an academic medical center Research focus and/or external funding Demonstrated excellent teaching and leadership skills
