POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager of Behavioral Health Crisis and the Clinical Nurse Manager, you will provide direct and indirect clinical services to children and adolescents in need of mental health care. You will be responsible for delivering age-appropriate care and treatment. Key responsibilities include:
Crisis assessment and intake assessment
Individual, group, and family therapy
Creating and modifying treatment plans
Case management and team/community collaboration
Patient and family education
Triage and discharge planning

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION:
Minimum of a Master’s degree in the Behavioral Health field
State of CT Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), or equivalent
CPR certification preferred
Training in PMT and de-escalation techniques is required, with certification within 6 months
EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience in the Behavioral Health field is preferred, with age-specific competency requirements.
COMPETENCIES:
Strong understanding of psychiatric disorders and related community resources
Proficient clinical skills with team-oriented and multitasking abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Capable of responding effectively in emergency situations, including patient restraint
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Gathering and assessing comprehensive information about clients' bio-psychosocial influences and disorders
Developing and adjusting treatment and discharge plans in compliance with professional standards
Making appropriate referrals to community and treatment resources
Timely completion of documentation in accordance with DCF, managed care, and JCAHO standards
Contributing positively to team meetings and enhancing patient outcomes
Developing appropriate therapeutic interventions based on growth and development principles
Utilizing patient and family education materials effectively
Building rapport and demonstrating empathy during clinical interactions
Facilitating skill development in therapeutic settings
Managing potentially violent situations with proper techniques
