Description Overview The Business Analyst II is responsible for leading initiatives in data modeling, system integrations, and advanced analytics. This role partners with leadership to optimize reporting structures, develop predictive insights, and improve business processes using data-driven solutions. Distinguishing Characteristics This journey-level position is distinguished from lower class by its greater autonomy, technical depth, and cross-functional collaboration. The Business Analyst II leads initiatives, implements complex solutions, and supports decision-making at a strategic level, setting it apart from the more task-oriented Business Analyst I. Essential Functions Designs and implements advanced dashboards and reporting systems. Leads data integration efforts and partners with IT on system architecture. Develops predictive and statistical models to support business goals. Collaborates with leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions. Optimizes existing reporting frameworks for accuracy and performance. Supports data governance by enforcing standards and best practices. Conducts in-depth analysis to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities. Mentors junior analysts and supports cross-functional project teams. Documents technical workflows and provides training to end users. Implements automation to streamline data collection and reporting processes. Stays informed on emerging technologies and analytics trends. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, computer science, or a closely related field. Four (4) years of experience in business intelligence or data analytics. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading analytics initiatives or cross-functional reporting projects. Proficiency in cloud-based platforms such as Azure or AWS. Certifications in data analytics or business intelligence tools. OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in the successful performance of the job. Additional education may substitute for required experience on one-for-one year basis or vice versa. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and advanced reporting techniques. Knowledge of business intelligence architecture and data governance standards. Skill in SQL, Python, Power BI, and other analytics platforms. Skill in solving complex data problems and providing actionable insights. Ability to lead technical projects and influence strategic decision-making. Ability to translate business requirements into scalable solutions. Work Environment Sedentary work environment. Work performed generally in the office settings and requires limited physical, ergonomic, or emotional efforts. Work may generally require walking, standing, bending, kneeling, carrying light loads and lifting no more than 10 pounds.
