Position Introduction/Key Duties

Cimarron is seeking a

Pipe and Valve Material Engineer

to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the US Air Force's Sentinel program (GBSD) in Ogden, UT. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch infrastructure at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a vital nuclear modernization program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground based leg of the nuclear triad -- the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This is an onsite position that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e., every other Friday off), paid overtime, and a great work/life balance. For candidates not local to the Ogden area, a relocation allowance can be provided.

Key Duties:

Plan, develop, coordinate, and review plant design and piping work requirements to ensure configuration compliance and support procurement activities. Develop piping line class sheets and maintain specifications for pipe, fittings, valves, and miscellaneous piping hardware. Prepare and execute material requisitions for bulk pipe, valves, supports, and other piping components. Perform calculations related to piping components, including minimum pipe wall thickness, in accordance with ASME B31.1 and other applicable codes and standards. Prepare, coordinate, and maintain piping and valve technical specifications, material class sheets, bid evaluations, and award recommendations. Conduct detailed technical evaluations of supplier bids and perform supplier document reviews. Review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for piping material applicability. Coordinate with Supply Chain functions and suppliers to address the technical requirements of purchase orders. Review and disposition supplier deviation requests and Requests for Information (RFIs). Review and disposition Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and Field Change Documents (FCDs) from construction. Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use. Knowledgeable of standard piping codes such as ASME B31.1, B31.3, IPC, etc. Prior experience developing piping material class sheets & technical specifications. Familiar with Smart Plant Reference Data Familiar with Oracle Agile High School diploma or equivalent and 12 or more years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree and 8 or more years of experience.
