Job Duties
The Division of Prevention and Health Promotion (DPHP) is responsible for administering state, regional, and local community based programs specific to chronic disease prevention, tobacco prevention, oral health promotion, substance use disorder prevention and injury and violence prevention. The DPHP seeks a qualified candidate to serve as the Overdose Data to Action Grant coordinator. The selected candidate will be responsible for grant management, including grant writing, implementation, and monitoring. This position provides oversight of contracts all geared towards preventing and treating substance use disorder for Virginians. This position independently performs a variety of administrative tasks including grant reporting, budget development and management, resource procurement, and stakeholder partnership management. Work tasks regularly require interpretation of policies, procedures, and processes. This position provides critical leadership for population-based substance use disorder prevention efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of program planning, research, evaluation, and quality control methods. • Experience providing technical assistance related to program development and analysis. • Experience in conducting research, including data collection, analysis, and dissemination. • Ability to interpret and implement data collection and reporting requirements. • Experience leading complex research or related projects. • Ability to develop reports, manage electronic data, and create effective data visualizations. • Skilled in presenting information clearly and effectively. • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, to provide leadership, set priorities, facilitate collaboration, and effectively convey information to others.
Additional Considerations
Experience in working with substance abuse. Experience in working in public health.
