* You will develop, debug, and modify components of software applications and tools.
* You will write automated unit, integration and acceptance tests as appropriate to support our continuous integration pipelines
* You will support and troubleshoot data and/or system issues as needed
* You will provide improvements to solutions for a given problem
* You will define, develop and maintain artifacts like technical design or business partner documentation
* You will resolve problems and roadblocks as they occur, follow through on details, and drive issues to closure with help from your peers.
* You will actively participate in code and design reviews
* You will participate in user story creation in collaboration with the team What technical skills will successful candidates possess? : Who you are:
* Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or a related major and/or equivalent work experience
* Experience using code versioning tools for e.g Git or others
* Experience in Agile/Scrum software development practices
* Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely
* 1-3+ years experience in Software Engineering
* Experience in writing transactional web services
* Experience in JVM technologies, Kotlin or functional programming in an equivalent language a strong plus.
* Experience in SQL and NoSQL data stores
* Experience with AWS (EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, Aurora, RDS, DocumentDB), Redis, Chef
*3+ as we would want someone that is experienced based on the technical and functional skills required, but open to candidates with 1-3+ if they have the experience. Tell us about your team : The Partner Technologies - Distribution & Supply Tech Inventory team powers the platform for ingesting, storing and distributing the lodging rates and availability data for all Client Group brands. We build highly available, scalable and performant distributed systems using latest technologies in cloud with complete CI/CD.
You will be embedded on a collaborative Inventory team, augmenting and onboarding onto the projects the specific team is currently working on. Our teams consist of 4-5 developers and an engineering manager, leveraging agile methodologies. Is there any industry specific experience that would separate one candidate from another? : Experience in the travel industry, working with AWS technologies and distributed systems Are you open to this role being permanently remote? : No How will you interview candidates? : Ideally, we would have one screen and if suitable to move forward then have them go through a full interview loop. It can be 3 technical interviews as long as the hiring manager screened the candidate, or 2 technical interviews and one hiring manager behavioral loop if no initial screen.
