We are seeking an experienced
Microsoft 365 Security Engineer
to join our team. This
full-time
contract role is a
hybrid
position requiring a local candidate who can work onsite as needed. The primary focus will be on monitoring the environment and implementing data loss prevention (DLP) strategies. The role involves a strong consulting and advisory component, assisting management in optimizing existing tools and security practices. What You'll Do:
Conduct comprehensive security assessments on Azure Office 365 platforms and Windows 11 desktop environments Document the current security environment and provide best practice recommendations Advise the Director on effective utilization of existing security tools Focus on monitoring the environment and implementing data loss prevention strategies Perform hands-on Microsoft Cloud and on-premises security administration Interact with IT management, IT systems teams, vendor support, and end-users to ensure effective communication and implementation of security measures What You'll Need:
Minimum of 5 years of experience with security assessments and best practices on Azure Office 365 Platforms Proficiency in Office 365 Data Loss Protection and Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection Experience with remote desktop patch monitoring, reporting, and patching Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure security best practices and Microsoft Cloud monitoring and logging Familiarity with server patch maintenance and 3rd party reporting tools such as Nagios and Tenable Experience with Microsoft GCC (Government Cloud) and SharePoint Security assessments Familiarity with Mandiant Managed Defense Relevant Microsoft Security certifications Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc. Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
