Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Launch and Missile Defense Systems is offering an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer Systems Test - System Test Data Manager (25-307) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This role, based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, is crucial in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position, and this role is on-site with no remote options.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital element of the Missile Defense System. It is a crucial operational system that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control designated networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability that provides an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Furthermore, C2BMC is an essential component of all system ground and flight tests, which verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of the missile defense system.

The System Test Team is responsible for planning and analyzing all ground and flight tests of the C2BMC program. Work will take place at Schriever SFB, and occasional non-standard hours may be necessary based on test schedules.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for ground test types, including:

Pairwise tests

Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI)

Integrated Ground Test (GTI)

Distributed Ground Test (GTD)

Cyber tests

Space Domain Awareness (SDA)

Pre-flight test HWIL efforts

Flight tests are conducted using predetermined sensors and shooters

International events include various ground and flight tests

Responsible for collecting, processing, delivering, and ensuring the integrity of all test event data

Data is retrieved from testbeds, labs, and the operational environment

The Data Manager is also responsible for:

Handling real-world event (RWE) data requests

Satisfying analysts' requests for truth data

Managing server and NAS disk space

Archiving data according to System Test processes

Collaborating with FFRDC and contractor analysts, execution leads, system integrators, program leadership, and the government customer

Creating data processing and delivery status reports

At least 5 years of experience as a data manager or Linux systems administrator

Self-motivated with strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, capable of working effectively in a fast-paced team environment with government clients and internal and external personnel

Experience with Linux and Windows systems

Shell scripting, cron jobs, automation tools, and scripting

Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in

STEM

fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related

STEM

field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a related field with 1 year of relevant work experience

Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued

Secret

security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start

A DoD 8140 certification at

IAT Level II or higher

(Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.) is required to start

Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs are required

Proficient in

Linux

and

Windows

Server administration

Basic coding skills to create scripts that help automate data collection and management tasks

Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand software components operating in a widely distributed, virtual environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in

Python

and

Java

is highly preferred

Prior experience in integration and testing within the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program

Technical knowledge of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense System (MDS), including sensors, shooters, command and control systems, and networks

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:

Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
