The Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for protecting the organization's information systems through the implementation, monitoring, and management of robust cybersecurity measures. This role requires hands-on experience in cybersecurity, network administration, vulnerability management, and threat analysis, with proficiency in tools such as Sophos and Arctic Wolf.
Reporting to the Director of IT, the Cyber Security Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with security policies, leading threat research, and fostering security awareness throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, organized, and maintains comprehensive documentation. They will serve as a core member of the Incident Response Team and act as a subject matter expert across the cybersecurity stack.
This position requires 100% on-site presence due to the hands-on nature of the role, including direct access to secure systems, collaboration with on-site teams, and immediate response to IT and security incidents. Primary Responsibilities Security Policy Management:
Maintain and update Information Security Policies; collaborate with the IT Director and Compliance Officer to ensure implementation and adherence. Audits & Assessments:
Lead regular user access audits and vendor vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks. Asset & Risk Management:
Maintain an accurate inventory of assets, including risk assessments and classifications. Incident Response:
Test and update incident response plans; conduct threat research; follow documented runbooks for scenarios such as ransomware and system recovery. Vulnerability Management:
Own Arctic Wolf security tickets, coordinate patching efforts, and remediate vulnerabilities identified via Sophos MDR, penetration testing, or internal audits. Threat Monitoring & Phishing:
Evaluate phishing attempts reported by users, escalate critical issues to the IT Director, and conduct ongoing threat research. Backup & Recovery:
Monitor system backups, resolve backup failures, and ensure recovery processes are tested and reliable. Security Awareness Training:
Deliver annual training, customize content based on organizational needs, and track completion, following up with non-compliant users. Cloud Security:
Evaluate and mitigate security risks during migrations to cloud-based file storage and ERP systems. Network & System Security:
Work closely with Network Administrators to secure infrastructure, including switches, wireless networks, and cloud environments. Compliance & Safety:
Support departmental safety initiatives and ensure adherence to safety regulations and PPE usage. Reliability:
Demonstrate dependable attendance, punctuality, and a professional, conscientious attitude. On-Call Support:
Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation for security-related incidents. Other Duties:
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required. Minimum of 2 years in a cybersecurity role. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or CEH are a plus. Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity auditing, threat research, and vulnerability remediation. Experience with ERP systems is strongly preferred. Experience in process manufacturing environments and OT network security is preferred. Supervisory experience is a plus, especially in user support and mentorship roles. Strong understanding of network administration, including switches, wireless, email protocols, and encryption standards. Familiarity with Arctic Wolf (SOC/SIEM-as-a-service) and Sophos MDR. Proficiency with Active Directory and Group Policy security configurations. Experience with Microsoft 365 administration. Ability to conduct user access audits, vendor assessments, and manage penetration test remediation. Skilled in maintaining incident response plans and security runbooks. Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of translating technical content for non-technical audiences. Highly organized with strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Self-starter with minimal need for supervision and strong reporting discipline. Professional demeanor and commitment to excellent service and execution. Must be punctual, articulate, and well-organized. Physical Requirements
Must be able to manage changing priorities and perform effectively under pressure. Some climbing, lifting (up to 20 pounds), and bending are required. Occasional travel may be necessary. Compensation
Range: $103,324 - $112,894 (bonus potential for achieving performance goals.)
