Job Summary

We are seeking a Customer Service Representative / Veterinary Receptionist to join our team at Charleston Animal Hospital.

In this role, you will communicate with customers to identify their needs, process requests, de-escalate complaints, and provide helpful solutions that ensure they have a great customer service experience with our company. The ideal candidate is friendly, computer savvy, and is able to remain calm under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Will be based on how many years of experience the applicant has had as a veterinary receptionist / veterinary customer service representative.

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, employees get1 full day off in the work week.

10.5 hour shift with a 1 hour lunch break

Holidays / Weekends as needed

Responsibilities

Opening and Closing out daily

Maintaining a clean lobby and reception area

Ability to use a computer adequately

Receive a high volume of inbound calls

Responding to emails

Checking in and out multiple clients

Handling of electronic medical records

Identify the reason for the customer’s call, collect relevant information, and provide solutions

Making appointment reservations

Preparing medications and printing drug labels

Refer to premade scripts for a variety of customer service topics

Use best practices in customer service techniques to develop rapport and build relationships with customers

Accurate documentation and communication of all client interactions

Attend trainings to maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge

General knowledge of veterinary medication and treatments

Able to lift 60 lbs

Ability to perform their duties while maintaining their composure during emotional/stressful situations.

Patience, compassion, and a POSITIVE attitude are expected.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED

Applicants must have at least 6 months to 1 year prior experience in a veterinary hospital.

Comfortable using computers and customer management software

Excellent phone and verbal communication skills

Understanding of active listening techniques

Ability to work well under pressure

Highly organized with the ability to prioritize projects and manage time effectively

Bilingual is a plus.

Previous experience with Avimark veterinary software is a plus.
