Job Summary
The Student Success Analyst interprets data and turns it into information to improve CCM student success, student experiences, critical business process, and/or practice of the college all aimed at achieving our mission. The Student Success Analyst gathers data and information from various sources and interprets patterns and trends using software and knowledge in a rigorous research and analytical process. The Student Success Analyst will feed forward their analysis and follow-up to determine if the intended outcomes were met (closing the loop).
Qualifications - Education
Education: Master's degree in the Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Behavioral Sciences, or related field requiring data use, research, and/or analytics
Qualifications - Experience
Job Experience:: A minimum of three years of analytical experience, preferably in Higher Education, with significant experience in research, data analysis, and using databases and environmental scanning techniques.
Qualifications - Skills
Other (KSAOs): Proficiency with data management tools (SQL, Power BI, Tableau), statistical software (R, SPSS), predictive analytics, data visualization tools Critical thinker with ability to fit research into an integrated business model and produce patterns of student/client behaviors in oral and written formats. Excellent detail report writing and presenting summary reports. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. • Knowledge of research methods and design • SQL proficiency, storyboards, dashboards • Statistical analysis software - SPSS, R, Tableau etc. • Excel mastery - pivot tables, power query • Familiarity with higher education data • Understanding of underlying structure of relational databases • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts • Experience creating analytical datasets from warehouse data
