PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Receive patient calls and perform check in/out duties. Provide excellent customer service by scheduling appointments, registering patients, verifying insurance coverages, and assisting with patient inquiries.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) 1. Rotate between front desk check in and central scheduling phone line functions as assigned.* 2. Monitor incoming phone calls, register and/or update patient information including address changes, insurance changes, and schedule patients as needed.* 3. Determine if an incoming call is urgent and transfer to triage nurses/appropriate medical staff. Take phone messages for medical staff and providers when appropriate.* 4. Verify insurance via appropriate method.* 5. Collect co-payments and/or other payments from patients as needed.* 6. Balance daily cash drawer upon shift completion.* 7. Complete the registration and check in process in clinic for patients as needed. 8. Maintain minimum established department call metrics & benchmarks. * 9. Ability to work under pressure with busy provider schedules* 10. Participate as an active team member in a patient-centered medical home. 11. Attend ongoing job-related training. Training time may be outside of normal working hours.* 12. Work respectfully and collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.* 13. Attend all department meetings.* 14. Maintain regular, in person, work attendance and punctuality, as scheduled.* 15. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: • High School Diploma or equivalent
EDUCATION/LICENSES PREFERRED: • Bachelor's Degree in related field
